My Approaches

Hello. My name is Nkem. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with eight years of experience, and have a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision; supervising mental health Counselors in training. My experience comprises of working with people living with various mental health/behavioral conditions, to include severe / persistent mental illnesses, co-occurring disorders, and group counseling.

I have had the pleasure of developing my expertise in work environments that include an adolescent behavioral modification (partial hospitalization) program and community mental health counseling.  My volunteer work, speaking to my compassionate approach, includes volunteering at a Veteran hospice program. I hold a belief that everyone is deserving of unconditional positive regard. As a culturally competent Psychotherapist, I strive to be effectively supportive at the individual, professional, organizational, and societal level.
